Got a letter from the bank today – they approved the short sale. Yippee!
They want to close by June 30. That’s 3 weeks, 2 days. Yikes!
We have nothing packed and so far, we have no place to go.
We’re waiting for the buyer to schedule an inspection of our current house. If that goes smoothly, we have a lead on a place and we’ll start looking into that. My guess is that we won’t have a firm address for moving to until about a week before the closing date.
In my next life, I’d like less drama. Please. Or at least spread it out so that it doesn’t bunch up all in one week.

Just in case you haven’t thought about it — look into using PODS or Stuffit! or some other moving/storage thingie. I’ve got one that’s 8x16x8 (hlw). It costs about $100/month for this size, and $50 any time they have to move it. You can keep it as long as you want, or they can take it and store it with no extra charge. If I want access to it while they have it, they charge another $25. They can also be hired to load and unload it for you, but it’s a lot easier (and maybe cheaper, depending on the beer brand) to have friends help instead.
Anyway, you could do a Ronald McDonald stay with furniture, etc, in one or more of the pods. Then when you’re ready to go to the new home they deliver the pod and you unload it at your convenience.
Worth a thought, I hope.

Good thinking, Nancy. You are soooo smart!
Just experienced — spent this afternoon helping load the pod that’s out in the driveway. It’ll be picked up Friday; then I have to rearrange the house, move far too much to storage, arrange for carpet cleaning, etc, etc,e tc, and then have the handyman come and do most of the repairs. Then maybe I can get it on the market. Maybe. Aarrrgh.
