I’ve been trying to cut back on chocolate this year (not a New Year’s resolution, because that’ll be history by the end of the week). We’ve noticed the cost of chocolate rising at the grocery store and we’re trying to cut back so we can keep the people at daycare paid (they like that sort of thing), so I decided chocolate could go.
It’s hard to go cold turkey.
Hi, my name is Diane, and I’m a chocolate addict.
Yeah, not like that was a big secret.
Anyway, I got home from work today and was desperate. I was digging through cupboards where we used to keep the chocolate, hoping maybe some random piece had escaped from a bag and hidden itself behind something else. No such luck. I finally hit on some hot chocolate in the spice cabinet. It’s a store brand and probably 5 years old. It tastes just terrible. And yet, I can’t throw it out. I feel compelled to drink it. It’s all I’ve got at this point, and crappy or not, it’ll have to do.
I’m so pathetic.

Yes, yes your are…However, I can relate. I gave up junk food for one week. Yes, just one week. It was a challenge. However, it should probably be extended due to too much food consumption during the month of December.
