Who’s Yer Daddy?

Matt (and Busia) circa 1976 (He’s one year old)

Sam circa 2008 (she’s 5 1/2 months old)

Just in case there were any questions about the kids’ parentage, it looks like there’s no doubt that he’s the daddy of at least one of the twins.  ;o)

And one more

Got another peek inside Jessie’s mouth yesterday while we were playing.  She’s got a total of 4 teeth coming in. The newest one is on top, off to the side.  It looks like she’s getting fangs.  Sam might want to keep her distance – or start growing some toofers of her own.

Jessie got herself moving forward this weekend!  She motors around the living room, it’s so darned cute.  Fortunately, she hasn’t figured out that she can go everywhere.  Right now she’s pretty content to stay in the play area (as designated by the sheet on the floor) and just go after the toys she’s interested in.  [...]

in the wee hours of the morning?
All the people who want to take our kids home with them. One of these days, I’ll call their bluff.  They know who they are.
“Oh, they’re so cute. I just want to take one home with me!”
Yup. They’re no where to be found in the wee hours of the [...]

It’s been a long, painful week.
Monday I had a meeting in Mt. Pleasant.  Lunch went way later than it should have, so we got back to Lansing way later than expected.  Not so bad, but it made for a long day and left very little “alone” time after work before dashing off to get the [...]

New this morning

The kids let us sleep in a bit this morning – not nearly as much as we’d have liked, but at least they weren’t upbefore 6am.
We let them chatter for a while, waiting until someone started to really holler before we got up.  Jessie was the first on to really make a lot of noise, [...]

Nope, not an obscene phone call.
I just walked home from work.  Talk about a little out of shape!!  I used to be able to walk home without even thinking about it and once even ran the entire distance when we were getting a roof put on and the roofing guy called and asked me to [...]

No, not bundles of joy. Those are ok.
We got home from daycare last night around 6pm.  As usual, I turned on the tv to watch the news.  The Tuinstra/Pacer routine is to watch the local and national news while we’re feeding the babies and possibly ourselves.
We’ve got Dish Network.  Satellite was cheaper than cable, so [...]

Tax Rebate

I know, I know, I could go on at length about the insanity of sending folks a check to stimulate the economy when we’re borrowing the money from China in the first place and most people will either pay off bills or buy stuff made in China.
But I won’t.
Because the reality is that we’re spending [...]

Friday

It’s been a pretty good Friday so far.
Matt & I both took the day off today. We’d planned weeks ago to go to Trader Joe’s in Farmington Hills, mostly because we really like their laundry detergent and we’re almost out, given how much laundry the kids manufacture.  The plan was to make a day of [...]

Our other cutie

Jessie – in an unusual picture – most of the ones I take of her are out of focus for some reason.  She moves around a lot and is hard to get in low light with a manual focus lense. Unfortunately, I can’t seem to get one with her dazzling smile.  If I ever do, [...]

Frieda

Aren’t those just the cutest curls?  Poor kid had to go to daycare with crazy hair this morning because her mom didn’t comb out the curls.

Going out to the store with the kids is a bit of a circus. I’d read that this could happen before we had the kids, but I didn’t believe it.  For some reason when folks see twins, they feel the need to stop and ask all sorts of questions.  Some days it tickles me, other [...]

The weekend

Correction - Jessie’s getting two teeth.  In spite of some horror stories we’d heard about teething babies, she’s been her normal happy self. She spent the weekend practicing crawling – backwards. She can reach top speeds on the wood floors, a little slower on the rug.  Gotta keep an eye on her or she’ll speed under [...]

Took the kids to the doctor this afternoon.  No pink eye – yippee.  Sam does have an ear infection – that was a surprise, since she didn’t indicate anything to us and has been giggly all day.  They both look much better than they did this morning, except their noses are really stuffy.
Jessie: 16 lbs, [...]
