I’ve been off for about 8 weeks, almost like summer vacation from school, except without the summer. Or the school. I’m really looking forward to getting back. And I picked up a new lunch box when I was at the grocery store this morning – just like when we were kids. Except I passed by [...]

We finally figured out the night feedings. Mom, bless her heart, had been helping with the night feedings. For almost 2 weeks, everytime one of the babies cried at night, the three adults would pop out of bed and argue over who was going to change the diaper, who would heat up the bottle, and who [...]

It’s happened. All three adults in the household (Matt, my Mom, and me) have lost the ability to remember what happened when. When did Sam have a bottle? When was Jessie’s last diaper change? No clue. Why? Because everyday is the same. We get up, Matt goes to work, Mom and I change diapers and [...]

Hopefully the girls will sleep long enough to let me reduce a couple of photos to a reasonable size for downloading and post them here.
Bless their little hearts, they’ve been so much more fun this week than last, mostly since Mom’s here to help. Babies are more calm, I’m more calm, cats are more calm. Mom’s [...]
Man, can those kids eat!!!

The last few days I’ve spent almost the entire day with a bottle in my hand, rotating kids in the other arm. All they do is eat, eat, eat. Sam has developed chubby cheeks in the last day or so and is looking more like a baby than a very tiny, serious adult. That’s a [...]

No major meltdowns since Monday, although when both scream at once, I’m sure my blood pressure goes through the roof.
We had a doctor appointment yesterday – both girls are growing well. Sam’s 6lbs, 6oz., Jessie’s 6lbs, 11 oz.
And Sam just woke up screaming……

Well, it didn’t take long for me to lose it completely.
Monday was a very bad day. The babies screamed all day long. People keep saying, “Just let them cry!” However, they don’t cry, the scream. When they scream, the cats go nuts. So, I’m dealing with two screaming kids and two manic animals. And then [...]

I think I’m losing it. Certainly I expect it to be gone by the time I go back to work at the end of the month.
All along I’ve thought that twins were managable, and thank goodness we didn’t have more than two. With two, you have as many kids as you have hands, so it [...]

Two of my sisters-in-law, Rachel & Nancy, came out today to see the girls and to pick up Busia and bring her back home. It was good to see them….and have them hold and feed the babies this morning. Too bad they stole Busia! We’ll miss her. Deeply!!

If the babies are not on the same schedule, you could end up nursing babies continually all day. One wakes up & nurses. When she finishes, the other wakes up and nurses. After putting baby #2 back to bed, #1 wakes up and it starts all over again.
It is impossible to get anything else done [...]
It’s October already???

My, how time flies when you’re cooped up in the house.
Usually I get to work by 7am. The last time I went to work (back in August), it was plenty light at 7am. Now when I get up to feed a baby in the morning, it’s still dark out after 7. I suspect the change [...]
