Archive for August, 2007

So, besides being on bedrest, I’ve been seeing a doctor for several days in a row.  See previous post for Wednesday and Thursday. Today, we got to the lab around 7am for some bloodwork, then headed over to the regular OBGYN office for an appointment.  Got a second steriod shot (mature, babies, mature!!!!) and then the [...]

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more fun….
My feet are huge, my calves are the size of thighs, and my knees have all but disappeared.  In the past 2 weeks, I put on 13-14 pounds, most of which I assume is due to the swelling of everything below my waist.  There is no [...]

Poor Jack

Big, furry Jack – he’s the most georgous cat I’ve seen in a long time. He’s got great fur – doesn’t mind being brushed, except if you do his tail or the back of his legs, the color is magnificent, and he has such a full coat.  Lately, with all the hot weather, he’s been [...]

Least favorite things at work

Oh, the excitement at work this week, she says, tongue in cheek.
Thursday we had an accidental fire drill when the crew working on the fire suppression system set something off.  There was no way I had ay intention of going down all those stairs…it would have taken me until the next morning to get to [...]

My dad referred to his beer belly as his “muscle” when we were kids.  I’m going to follow in his tradition.  And since my belly is definitely firmer than Dad’s ever was, I might have a bit more credibility.  It is definitely all baby (and accompanying accessories) in there.  Take that, little kid in the [...]

32 Weeks

I had another doctor’s appointment this afternoon.  First I had the non-stress test (NST).  What a horrible little experience that was.  The nurse sat me down on a recliner and put 3 monitors on my belly with stretchy Velcro straps.  She made sure to pull the straps as tight as possible – that was sonot [...]

I haven’t been to the grocery store in ages. It’s just too far for me to walk all the way around the store.  However, this morning I went with Matt to Meijers.  I had to get a few things that I needed to pick out myself…not that I don’t trust him to come home with [...]

Just my opinion

Hershey’s Sugar-free Chocolate Syrup is nasty in milk.  Not even close to the regular chocolate syrup.  I wish I could drink milk plain, but I just can’t.  The things you don’t do for your kids. And they’re not even here yet.

TGIF

What a wickedly long week this one was. And it was babies, babies, babies all week long.
Monday I had an OBGYN appointment.  According to the latest ultrasound, both babies are head down again. Let’s hope they stay that way!  Although, my bladder, upon whom both heads are banging, has a different opinion.  It doesn’t get [...]

Bette Davis Eyes

I don’t have Bette Davis eyes.  I have my dad’s, in green instead of brown.  I do, however, have Fred Flintstone feet. Or at least that’s what a couple of people have told me in the last few days.  OK, one said I had Barney Rubble feet, but since Fred and Barney had the same [...]

We have a new ride!

We found a minivan we liked on Thursday, and went back this morning for a test drive.  Liked it, so we put some money down and will pay the rest when the insurance check arrives.  Got a great deal on a 2002 Olds Silhouette.  It’s just like the one we had, except two years younger [...]

Random thoughts

Check your car insurance.  Getting coverage for a rental car is a very good idea.
If you’re pregnant, do not get on a scale before going to bed.  Very bad idea!!
I’ve hear rumors that after you have the baby(ies), you’re belly isn’t as big.  I’ll have to see it to believe it. I’m convinced I’ll be [...]

After spending the morning in the Sparrow lab getting blood removed from my arms, the doctor’s office just called and I flunked the glucose test.
No car, no booze, and now I can’t even drown my sorrows in ice cream. It could be a long August!

Um, yes. Just a little.  The only door that opens is the driver’s door. The windshield is broken. The floor is buckled.  Doesn’t look like they found the wheel – all the other glass and plastic parts were swept up and deposited in the back of the van.  I’m really glad that 1) Matt wasn’t [...]

A very long day…

Just an average Sunday with a zillion things that needed to get done…and didn’t.
Marci and Tony and the boys came over with a ton of baby things.  Bless their hearts!!!!  It looks like Baby Central here.  Swing, bouncy seat, changing table with baskets, boxes of toys, a box of crib sheets and assorted other things….wow!
Unfortunately, [...]
